Wonder Woman Becomes Lady Jaye: Adrianne Palicki Joins G.I. Joe Sequel

Jon M. Chuand the producers ofG.I. Joe: Cobra Strikeskeep expanding the cast of theJoesequel.  They’ve retained a few actors from the first film:Channing Tatum,Ray ParkandByung Hun-lee, and have roped in a couple of significant new cast members, notablyDwayne Johnsonas Roadblock.RZAis on board, too, and nowAdrianne PalickifromFriday Night Lights, who got some good notes for her work in theWonder Womanpilot that NBC decided to can, will play the female lead: Lady Jaye.

Also in the cast are D.J. Cotronaas Flintand Elodie Yungas Jinx. We don’t know a lot about the story, and there isn’t even too much to extrapolate based on the character set that we have so far. Here’s the rundown on Adrianne Palicki’s character, however:

Lady Jaye is the G.I. Joe Team’s covert operations specialist. Her real name is Alison R. Hart-Burnett, and her rank is that of Staff Sergeant E-6. Lady Jaye was born on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. She is a Bryn Mawr graduate, and also did graduate work in Trinity College in Dublin, before graduating from intelligence school at Fort Holabird. She is Airborne and Ranger qualified, and an expert with the M-16, M-1911A1 auto pistol, and reflex crossbow. She is also an accomplished actress and fluent in several languages. She has a knack for impersonation, right down to the subject’s voice and mannerisms.

She probably won’t have that romance with Flint, though he might be looking for it to happen. More likely she’ll be angling for Channing Tatum’s Duke or Roadblock. Dammit, I can’t believe I"m actually speculating about the romantic entanglements in theG.I. Joesequel.

I should exit with that, but there is also a report that Bruce Willis is at the top of the wishlist for another character in the film, Joe Colton. But that sounds like pure wishlist stuff for now, so don’t get too set on seeing Bruce as the original Joe just yet. [Deadline]
