With the holiday weekend approaching, Paramount Pictures has already unleashedTerminator: Genisysin theaters. It’s a mind-numbing, time travel action adventure that doesn’t measure up to the greatness of James Cameron’sThe TerminatororT2: Judgment Day, but runs circles aroundTerminator 3: Rise of the MachinesandTerminator: Salvation.
But if you haven’t kept up with the Terminator franchise over the past few decades, you may catch up on Terminator history in 10 minutes with a new retrospective video that begins withThe Terminatorback in 1984 and moves up throughTerminator: Salvationfrom 2009. It tells you everything you need to know, though it doesn’t explain the best way to deal with all the time travel that’s been happening.

Cool tidbits (that hardcore Terminator fans probably already know) include the fact thatArnold Schwarzenggerwas originally interested in the role of Kyle Reese, but ended up becoming more fascinated with the title villain role instead. Who knows how the franchise would have turned out if Schwarznegger hadn’t take the role of The Terminator instead.
