January Jones Says Emma Probably Won’t Be In ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’, Promises More Betty In ‘Mad Men’ Season 6
Bryan Singerseems to be bringing back just about everyone forX-Men: Days of Future Past, including actors likePatrick StewartandHugh Jackmanfrom the previous trilogy. But there is, apparently, one notable exception.January Jones, who played Emma Frost inX-Men: First Class, said she has not been contacted about reprising her role — and that she doesn’t expect that to change.
Fortunately for her fans, though, she’ll still be plenty visible in the coming months. The actress also promised that BettyDraperFrancis would play a more prominent role inMad Men’s sixth season than she did in its fifth. Keep reading after the jump.
I don’t know that I’m in it, I don’t think Emma’s in this one. Well they haven’t told me if I am (laughs). I wouldn’t put it past them though, I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there. It’s called Days of Future Past I think, and I think it’s [McAvoy] andMichael[Fassbender] and then Patrick [Stewart] andIan[McKellan], and I think it’s gonna go back and forth with those so I don’t think Emma’s in those bits. I don’t know, I really don’t know.
X-Men: Days of Future Pastseems to have more than enough characters already, and Emma was more of a supporting character inFirst Class. It makes sense if the sequel simply doesn’t have room for her.
The news is happier for people who like Jones fromMad Men. While Jones' real-life pregnancy led to Betty having a reduced role in Season 5, the actress says we can expect to see much more of the character in Season 6. “Betty will be in it a bit more,” she teased toHitFix. Not surprisingly, she wouldn’t divulge any details. Feel free to comb yesterday’scast photosfor hints, though.
