J.J. Abrams Teases ‘‘Crazy’’ 90-Minute ‘Westworld’ Season Finale With An Ominous Clip
The season finale ofWestworldis just a couple days away, and soon we’ll get to see how many of theever-growing list of theoriesabout the show actually turn out to be true. The most recent episode ofWestworldalready confirmed one major theory that has been kicking around since the season premiere, and the finale will likely confirm or debunk the popular but controversial theory thatJimmi Simpson’s character William is actually a younger version ofEd Harris' character The Man in Black.
While we wait for the 90-minute season season finale to hit HBO on Sunday, series executive producerJ.J. Abramsstopped byThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonlast night to tease what he calls a “crazy” conclusion to the first season, and he even brought a clip from the finale to hold us over.

It looks like Charlotte (Tessa Thompson) is making the push for Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) to resign and leave Westworld behind after his new narrative debuts. But I’m betting that Ford isn’t going to go very quietly and probably has a few tricks up his sleeve. He always seems to be one step ahead of everyone around them, in some cases because he created those working for him, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can maintain his power over the park.
But even more interesting will be seeing what happens with Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) now that she’s met up with The Man in Black again. That’s likely where we’re going to get the most satisfyinganswers to a lot of unanswered questions. But as J.J. Abrams teases, the second season that has already been pitched is “even crazier,” so there will surely be some loose ends that aren’t tied up.
