‘Army Of Thieves’ Release Date Revealed In New Teaser

Wondering when the prequel forZack Snyder’sArmy of the Deadwill premiere on Netflix? Wonder no more — Snyder himself revealed the release date forArmy of Thievesin a teaser video on his Twitter account.

“ARMY OF THIEVES globally on Netflix OCTOBER 29,” Snyder wrote in hisTwitter post, getting right to the point.

The clip is only 14 seconds long and includes images that we’ve already seen from thetrailer dropped in July, but the tweet does contain that crucial bit of information: we can see another heist movie in two short months.

Snyder is Producing, Matthias Schweighöfer is Directing

We met the character Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer) in Snyder’sArmy of the Dead, and he is now the main protagonist in the prequel, with Schweighöfer himself behind the camera to direct. Still, the movie will have Snyder’s influence all over it — he’s a producer and co-wrote the script withShay Hatten.

The prequel is the next installment in what Snyder hopes is anArmy of the Deadcinematic universe. There’s also an animated project underway calledArmy of the Dead: Lost Vegas, another prequel that revolves aroundDave Bautista’s character fromArmy of the Dead.

In addition to Schweighöfer as Dieter, the cast includesGame of ThronesstarNathalie Emmanuelas Gwendoline,Ruby O. Feeas Korina,Stuart Martinas Brad Cage,Guz Khanas Rolph, andJonathan Cohenas Delacroix.

Netflix is all aboard the Snyder train, and not just for theArmy of the Deaduniverse. The streaming platform signed a two-yearfirst-look deal with Zack and Deborah Snyder’s production company. “My goal and hope are to bring as much quality content as I can and do it on a giant scale,” Snyder toldThe Hollywood Reporterwhen news of the deal broke in July. Snyder is doing as he promised — in addition to theseArmy of the Deadprojects he’s also directing aStar Wars-esque sci-fi feature calledRebel Moon.
